Talent Search - Contest Rules
Some aspects of our rules apply to all contestants in our talent search. Others will apply only to those
taking part in our exhibitions and showcases. Please read the rules carefully.
- Accompaniment:
Vocal contestants may use recorded accompaniment tracks with vocal background,
but there shall be no lead vocal on the track. For recorded accompaniment, a CD with only one track is
recommended. If a cassette tape will be used, a high quality tape should be used; a bad tape will detract
from performance. For Showcases: Tapes should be cued and ready to play. Acts should bring a second tape or CD as backup in
case of malfunctions.
- Talent Categories:
Contestants may perform in one of the following categories: singing (solo or group),
dance, instrumental, comedy, acting.
- Set-up:
For Showcases: Set up time is strictly limited (no longer than 10 minutes). Please be prepared.
- Selection:
Because FameandGlory is promoted heavily through our family-oriented partners, selections (including contestants' clothing)
must be appropriate for family audiences and may not include profanity or
lewdness. This is what would be expected of you if you were performing on network TV's Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
For Showcases: All contestants must perform the same act or
musical selection exactly as performed in their submission, including the number of people in the act.
Exceptions regarding people in act may be made on a case-by-case basis if change does not
effectively alter a performance. Contestants will be booked for one set (approximately 45 minutes).
- Forbidden:
Lip sync is forbidden. For Showcases: Acts may not use fire, pyrotechnics, liquids,
confetti, guns, sharp instruments such as knives or machetes, or any other substance or object that
may prove hazardous or inappropriate.
- Time Limit:
The performance that you submit may not exceed five minutes in length; three minutes is optimum. Contestants exceeding the time
limit will be disqualifiedm and no refunds made.
- Conduct:
For Showcases: Contestants must be courteous and respectful to other performers and club patrons while they are on stage or at
the showcase venue. Disruptions will result in immediate disqualification and no refunds shall be made.
- Sound and Lights:
For Showcases: Contestants are required to use the sound and light system provided by venue.
All other instruments and/or equipment, if needed, must be provided by contestant or rented prior to performance date.
- Dressing Rooms:
For Showcases: Dressing room space is limited and mirrors may not be provided so be prepared. Welcome to showbiz!
FameandGlory will not be responsible for lost or stolen articles or valuables.
